Internships are meant to be a valuable tool for every student of Europe to gain hands on knowledge and real work experience, by being part of the team of one of the most notable cultural institutions in Greece.
Internship placements are currently available at the following NLG departments:
- Manuscripts and Facsimile Department. Interns will be involved in various aspects of storage, cataloging, description, documentation and everyday care of material belonging to the Special Collections.
- Conservation Lab. Interns will be part of a team of specialized book and paper conservators involved with conservation treatment, preservation and preventive conservation activities on material from the various collections of the library that include manuscripts, printed books, archival material, works of art on paper and photographs.

Please note that internships are undertaken on a voluntary basis and are not financially compensated. Successful applicants can however benefit from the Erasmus+ traineeship programme addressing the international or Erasmus+ office of their higher education institution.
A very good command of the English language is necessary. Knowledge of Modern Greek, graduate and/or postgraduate studies in the relevant fields, good digital skills as well as a general knowledge of the Greek culture are further assets.
